About After Cooler
It is a heat exchanger designed & manufactured to reduce / cool the compressed air temperature to desired level, so the condensation takes place & vaporized moisture & oil in air gets converted in liquid droplets which further separated by moisture separator. The after cooler substantially reduces the moisture & oil load coming on down stream at the initial stage. The cooling media can be water or air.
Types :Shell and tube (Vertical / Horizontal) with and without moisture separator.
Location :At the outlet of Compressor.
Range :Upto 5000 CFM at 10 Kg/cm2 operating pressure.
MOC :- Shell As per IS 1239 / IS 2062.
- Tube As per BS 2871 part III C 105, TEMA std

FAQ's of After Cooler:
Q: How does the air-cooled After Cooler improve compressed air system efficiency?
A: The After Cooler uses an air-cooled system with copper tubes and aluminum fins to rapidly lower the temperature of compressed air after compression. This not only enhances air quality by reducing moisture content but also protects downstream equipment, improving overall system efficiency.
Q: What are the primary industrial applications for this After Cooler?
A: This After Cooler is ideally suited for industrial compressed air systems requiring effective cooling post-compression, such as manufacturing facilities, automotive workshops, and processing plants. It is designed to accommodate air discharge rates up to 12 m3/min and work under pressures from 7 to 12 kg/cm2.
Q: When should the After Cooler be installed in a compressed air system?
A: The After Cooler should be installed immediately after the air compressor and before any air treatment or storage components. This placement ensures that heat and moisture are efficiently removed from the air, optimizing the performance of subsequent filtration and drying equipment.
Q: Where is the best location to mount this After Cooler?
A: The cooler is designed for floor mounting, allowing for stability and easy access in industrial environments. Its compact, horizontal configuration and manageable dimensions enable convenient installation adjacent to compressor systems in workshops or plant floors.
Q: What is the typical process flow through the After Cooler?
A: Compressed air, entering at temperatures up to 120C, passes through copper tubes where aluminum fins enhance heat dissipation. An integrated electric fan cools the air efficiently before it moves on to the next stage, ensuring reduced moisture and temperature in the output air stream.
Q: How can users benefit from the low pressure drop and quiet operation?
A: With a pressure drop of less than 0.2 kg/cm2 and noise levels below 80 dB, the After Cooler minimizes energy losses and creates a safer, less disruptive work environment. These features translate into reduced operational costs and improved working conditions.
Q: What maintenance is required for the After Cooler, and how durable is it?
A: Routine maintenance involves periodic cleaning of heat exchanger fins and checking motor operation to maintain efficiency. Built from stainless and mild steel, the After Cooler is engineered for durability and long service life, even under demanding industrial conditions.
